This week’s TED is directly improv related.  Charlie Todd the founder of Improv Everywhere in New York City discusses his organizations goal of bringing fun, play, and positive shared experiences to public places.  I really love this quote by Todd describing the reason for his missions, “There is no point and there doesn’t have to be a point. We don’t need a reason. As long as it’s fun.”  I improv, because it allows me to play as an adult, and Todd backs me up on that idea in his talk.  So find a way to play today!

Carousel Horse Race

Improv Everywhere, a New York City based improv group knocks it out of the park again!  Their mission is to create large and small scale public pranks.  The improv comes in when the ”agents” interact with the public with just the information about the specific mission.  This time they created a horse race on a carousel in Bryant Park.  Check out this funny video as they connect all of the things you would see at a horse race at the carousel: betters, a jockey, announcers, etc.  The cutest part is the little kids on the carousel who become the unsuspecting participants, with the best part being the interview of the race winner!  Enjoy some improv everywhere!
